Who We Are

Rathbone Consulting is me, Aviva Rathbone. With over a decade of experience working in the heritage field in BC, I am passionate about creating community, making change, and working with like-minded folks.

I am deeply invested in the work I do and the people I do it with and for. I bring with me 10+ years of experience working in Cultural Resource Management, working on a variety of heritage-related projects with and for First Nations, and on projects that push boundaries and make important change.

My personal ethic is firmly rooted in my own heritage and identity and I use that as a place of strength to make space for marginalized voices. I don’t do this work alone but am instead inspired by highly motivated colleagues, mentors, and friends who are bravely challenging the status quo without fanfare or public recognition but simply because it’s the right thing to do.

I work hard and feel deeply for all of the projects I take on but I am also committed to ensuring my work is just one small aspect of my big and beautiful life.
